POLICE INVESTIGATE BURGLARY /ATTEMPTED ROBBERY

On December 10, 2025, at approximately 1:35 a.m., the Downers Grove Police Department responded to Downers Grove North High School, 4436 Main Street, for a report of a burglary and attempted robbery.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a man entered the school through an unlocked window. The man approached a maintenance worker and demanded money. Upon making contact with a second maintenance worker in the building, the man fled the school and was last seen traveling southbound on Forest Avenue on foot. No weapon was displayed or inferred. 


The offender is described as a Black male, approximately 50-60 years of age, 5’6” tall, with gray facial hair. The offender was wearing a black puffy coat, a dark baseball cap, green pants, tan boots, tan gloves, and a black drawstring bag.


Police continue to investigate, and no one is in custody at this time. The Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact 630.434.5600.
