The Citizens Utility Board (CUB) and DuPage County invite you to a free Solar Power Hour at the Village of Downers Grove Civic Center on August 21, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Betty Cheever Council Chambers.

The Citizens Utility Board (CUB) and DuPage County invite you to a free Solar Power Hour at the Village of Downers Grove Civic Center on August 21, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Betty Cheever Council Chambers. Attendees will learn how solar energy can lower your electricity bills, support the local economy and contribute to a healthier environment.
Topics covered by the Solar Power Hour include:
- How to save money and lower your energy bill with solar power
- How solar energy can work for homes and small businesses
- Information about Switch Together Chicagoland. This program uses group buying to help you get a competitive price on solar installation by having installers compete to offer their lowest bids.
- How to participate in a group-buy program and reduce upfront costs of solar panels (The current Switch Together program is expected to save the average household $5,139 on a typical-sized solar installation.)
This event is made possible by DuPage County, the Citizen’s Utility Board (CUB), Midwest Renewable Energy Association and SwitchTogether Chicagoland.
