Police Investigate Shooting

On May 10th, 2025, at approximately 6:51 p.m., the Downers Grove Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Prentiss Drive for a report of a person shot. The preliminary investigation indicates that two men were in an altercation with another man when several gunshots were fired. The victim, a twenty-four (24) year old man, was injured in the shooting and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries. The release of the victim’s identification is being held pending notification to family members.

Police have determined that the individuals involved in the incident were known to each other and there was no threat to the general public. Police continue to investigate, and no one is in custody at this time.
