The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 through 3:00 a.m. Thursday.
Be prepared and alert for hazardous road conditions, especially during the evening commute.
Please drive carefully and remember that on-street parking is prohibited in snowfalls of 3 inches or more.
WARMING CENTERS
Residents in need of shelter due to extreme cold can call 911 to request sheltering assistance. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Transportation to a warming center will be provided if needed.
The following warming centers are available, daily:
- Downers Grove Public Library, 1050 Curtiss St. 630.960.1200 Hours: M-F 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Sat, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Sun, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Main Street Train Station, 5001 Main St. Open throughout the night.
- List of warming centers in DuPage County. Please be sure to call a warming center before going to one, as some are only open during emergencies, such as large-scale power outages.
- Please be sure to check on friends and neighbors who may need assistance.
