Protect Your Packages From Thieves

Use these tips to avoid porch theft:


  • Network with neighbors. 
  • Have your package delivered to work.
  • Leave specific drop-off instructions.
  • Install a security camera(s). 


Here's what to do if you’ve become the victim of a porch theft:


  • Double check with the delivery company to make sure your package was delivered.
  • Know exactly what was in the missing package. 
  • If you see the thief, pay attention to what their vehicle looks like, and its license plate. Get a physical description of the thief - gender, approximate height, weight and clothing to tell the police. 
  • Call 911 and ask for an officer to come to your home. 
  • If you have a security camera, give a copy of the video to the police. Ask your neighbors if their cameras captured the thief in action.
