Project Summary

This multi-year project involves proactive improvements to extend the longevity of the Downtown Parking Deck. This year's project includes general maintenance and sprinkler line replacement.

LATEST UPDATE

July 11, 2025

Materials and equipment were removed from the parking deck this week. The project has passed final inspection and is complete.

PAST UPDATES

June 20, 2025

A final walkthrough is being scheduled with the contractor to review the fire sprinkler replacement. Some materials remain on site to address any punch list repairs that may be found during the final inspection, but a majority of the parking spaces should be open at this time.

May 9, 2025

1. Removal and replacement of the sprinkler system on the 1st floor has begun and will continue the week of 5/12.
2. If spaces are unavailable on the 1st level, please park on the 2nd level. Please continue to use caution near the work zone(s).

May 2, 2025

1. Removal and replacement of the sprinkler system on the 2nd floor will continue. Demolition may start shifting to the 1st floor as early as the week of 5/5.
2. If spaces are unavailable on the 1st level, please park on the 2nd level. Please continue to use caution near the work zone(s).

April 25, 2025

1. Removal and replacement of the sprinkler system on the 3rd floor is nearing completion. Demolition has started shifting to the 2nd floor.
2. Please continue to use caution near the work zone(s).

April 4, 2025

1. Removal and replacement of the sprinkler system on the 4th floor is nearing completion. Demolition is expected to begin shifting to the 3rd floor next.
2. Please continue to use caution near the work zone(s).

March 14, 2025

1. The contractor is planning to begin demo work of the old fire sprinkler system beginning Monday 3/17/25.
2. They plan to start on the 4th floor of the parking deck and will block off several parking spaces to stage their work zone.
3. The contractor will use cones and caution tape to delineate the work area and will likely shift daily as the project progresses.

February 28, 2025

USA Fire Protection was selected through the bid process to perform fire sprinkler line replacements in the downtown parking structure. Materials are being ordered to begin this project in spring 2025 with project completion anticipated in early summer 2025.

Bids were received for this project on 1/29.

November 22, 2024

This project was not awarded and has been re-budgeted to 2025.

April 26, 2024

The project was listed for bids on Wednesday, April 24. All bids are to be received by May 8. Construction is tentatively expected to begin this summer.
