Voters in Downers Grove will elect a Mayor and three Commissioners in the April 6, 2027, Consolidated Election.

Residents seeking to run for these elected offices can pick up Statements of Candidacy and nominating petitions from the Village Clerk at the Civic Center (2nd floor), 850 Curtiss St. beginning on July 28, 2026. Nominating petitions may not be circulated prior to this date.

Candidates must obtain signatures equal to at least 1% of the total number of votes cast for Mayor in the last mayoral election, or 94 signatures.


Completed Statements of Candidacy and nominating petitions are to be filed with the Village Clerk at the Civic Center (2nd floor), 850 Curtiss St.

  1. October 19 - October 23, 2026: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  2. October 26, 2026: 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If more than four persons file for the office of Mayor, or more than 12 persons file for the position of Commissioner, the DuPage County Election Commission will conduct a Primary Election on February 23, 2027.
