Police Respond to Pedestrian Struck by Train

On August 4, 2022, at approximately 5:50 p.m. the Downers Grove Police Department responded to the area of Main Street and the BNSF Railroad crossing for a report of a subject that was struck by a train.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a man was observed on foot on the railroad tracks between Main and Washington Streets when he was struck by a westbound Metra commuter train. The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.
