Police Investigate Aggravated Domestic Battery Incident

On November 14, 2024, at approximately 12:46 p.m., the Downers Grove Police Department responded to the Extended Stay hotel at 3150 Finley Road for a domestic-related incident between a man and woman.
On November 14, 2024, at approximately 12:46 p.m., the Downers Grove Police Department responded to the Extended Stay hotel at 3150 Finley Road for a domestic-related incident between a man and woman.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the man had armed himself with a knife. The woman’s two adult sons attempted to intervene, at which time they sustained minor injuries. The man fled from the hotel prior to police arrival. Officers observed the man in the 3900 block of Finley Road where he ran into a wooded area. Police set up a perimeter around the area and placed the man into custody a short time later.
Downers Grove Police were assisted by the Illinois State Police, DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, DuPage County Forest Preserve District Police Department, Lisle Police Department, Glen Ellyn Police Department and the West Chicago Police Department K-9 Unit.
The incident is still under investigation and no criminal charges have been filed at this time.
