Police Respond to Domestic Incident

On July 15th, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m. the Downers Grove Police Department responded to the 4200 block of Forest Avenue for a report of a domestic-related incident between a man and woman.
On July 15th, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m. the Downers Grove Police Department responded to the 4200 block of Forest Avenue for a report of a domestic-related incident between a man and woman. Upon arrival, officers located the woman outside of the residence and observed visible injuries that the female reported were caused by the male. The man was believed to be inside the residence and did not respond to police requests to exit. Police set up a perimeter around the residence and requested assistance from the DuPage Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigation Team (MERIT) Metro SWAT Team.
The man, identified as Anthony M. O’Leary (39) of the 6800 block of Highland Drive, Palos Heights, Illinois was taken into custody without incident. O’Leary has been charged with two counts Domestic Battery (Class A Misdemeanor). O’Leary was transported to the DuPage County Jail to await a detention hearing.
