The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) requires every water supply provider to develop and implement a backflow inspection program.
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) requires every water supply provider to develop and implement a backflow inspection program. Backflow is the reverse flow of water from devices that are cross-connected to the public water system, such as lawn irrigation systems, fire sprinkler systems, hot tubs, spas and in-ground pools.
Every three years the Village surveys all residential water customers to identify cross-connections in the water system and prevent backflow from accidentally entering drinking water.
The Village asks that all residents and businesses complete THIS short survey to identify possible sources of backflow, and advise of any backflow devices installed on their property.
