Police Respond to Pedestrian Train Accident

On March 29th, 2023, at approximately 2:19 a.m. the Downers Grove Police Department responded to the area of Main Street and the BNSF Railroad crossing for a report of a person that was struck by a train.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a person was observed on foot on the railroad tracks near Main Street when they were struck by an eastbound freight train. The person was pronounced deceased at the scene. The person's name will not be released pending notification of the family.
