Transportation Resources For Older Adults

March 28, 2023

According to AARP, nearly 90% of older adults choose to age in place in their homes and communities. Safe, reliable transportation is important when it comes to a person's ability to remain active and make the most of what their community has to offer.

When older adults are forced to "give up the keys'' due to injury or illness, the loss of independence can be difficult to overcome.

If you or an older adult you know are no longer able to drive due to injury, illness or for other reasons, the Village's Social Services Referrals program can help connect you with reliable and affordable transportation alternatives.

Call Heather today at 630.434.6894 or hlippe@downers.us for referrals to a transportation service that will meet your needs and get you, a family member or friend, moving again.
