Snow and Ice Control Operations February 1

Since the Village cannot plow all roads at the same time, we use a priority system summarized below. Priority 1 and 2 roads have been plowed. Crews will be salting roads that have some remaining snowpack. Crews plowed most of the Priority 3 roads yesterday and in the overnight hours. Work on these roads continues today. Priority 3 roads which include cul-de-sacs and dead-ends will be completed by approximately 3:00 p.m. today. Downtown sidewalks have been cleared and excess snow will be hauled from the area tonight.   

Here's a closer look at the priority rankings of roads in the Village Snow and Ice Control Plan:

• Priority 1: Primary roadways with the highest traffic volume, roadways adjacent to schools, and roadways leading to Good Samaritan Hospital. These streets are targeted for completion 12 hours after the storm's completion.
• Priority 2: All other secondary roadways with average daily traffic are targeted for completion 12 hours after the storm's completion.
• Priority 3: Cul-de-sacs and dead-ends with average daily traffic of less than 200 cars. are targeted for completion 18 hours after the storm's completion.
