Snow Operations Update
February 02, 2022
Village crews have been in snow and ice control operations since the winter storm began at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1.
Primary roads have been plowed and crews are now working on secondary roads and cul-de-sacs. More snow is expected. Work to clear snow covered roads will continue throughout the day and evening. Please be patient as crews continue to clear streets.
Since the Village cannot plow all roads at the same time, we use a priority system summarized below.
Here's a closer look at the priority rankings of roads in the Village Snow and Ice Control Plan:
- Priority 1: Primary roadways with the highest traffic volume, roadways adjacent to schools, and roadways leading to Good Samaritan Hospital. These streets are targeted for completion 12 hours after the storm's completion.
- Priority 2: All other secondary roadways with average daily traffic are targeted for completion 12 hours after the storm's completion.
- Priority 3: Cul-de-sacs and dead-ends with average daily traffic of less than 200 cars. are targeted for completion 18 hours after the storm's completion.
