Project Summary

This project will replace water main on Chase Avenue from 63rd Street to Hobson Road.

Work will also include patching of the existing roadway where the new water main will be installed, sidewalk improvements at the intersections and street resurfacing.

• The landscaping contractor will be visiting the site over the next few weeks for restoration work.
• All work is pending weather and scheduling.

June 2, 2023

• On 6/1/2023, Contractor placed asphalt pavement for resurfacing on Chase Avenue from 63rd Street to Hobson Road and 62nd Street from Chase Avenue to Janes Avenue.
• The landscaping contractor will be visiting the site over the next few weeks for restoration work. Sod will be placed pending weather and scheduling.

May 26, 2023

• Placement of the asphalt patch occurred on 5/23/2023 and 5/24/2023.
• Road resurfacing will be on Chase Avenue and on 62nd Street from Chase Avenue to Janes Avenue. During the grinding and paving process, access to the street and driveways will NOT be available during working hours (7:00am-4:00pm). Residents whose driveway access will be affected will receive a door hanger notification with information regarding the road resurfacing work.
• On Tuesday, May 30 (5/30/2023), the paving contractor is scheduled to grind the road in preparation for road resurfacing on Chase Avenue from 63rd Street to Hobson Road and 62nd Street from Chase Avenue to Janes Avenue.
• It is anticipated that the paving contractor will be resurfacing the road late the week of May 29 or early the week of June 5.
• The landscaping contractor will be visiting the site over the next few weeks for restoration work. Sod will be placed following the completion of pavement restoration activities.

May 19, 2023

• The week of May 22 the contractor is anticipated to be continuing concrete restoration work, including sidewalks, curb, and pavement.
• Asphalt pavement removal and resurfacing for the road work is expected to begin the week of May 22. Road resurfacing will be on Chase Ave. and on 62nd St. from Chase Ave. to Janes Ave. During the grinding and paving process, access to the street and driveways will NOT be available during working hours (7:00 am-4:00 pm). Residents whose driveway access will be affected will receive a door hanger notification with information regarding the road resurfacing work.

May 12, 2023

• Next week the contractor will be working on concrete restoration work including sidewalks, curb, and pavement.
• Pavement removal and resurfacing for the road work is expected to begin the week of May 22. Road resurfacing will be on Chase Avenue, and on 62nd Street from Chase Avenue to Janes Avenue. During the grinding and paving process, access to the street and driveways will NOT be available during working hours (7:00am-4:00pm). Residents whose driveway access will be affected will receive a door hanger notification with information regarding the road resurfacing work.

May 5, 2023

• The contractor will continue to install water services on the installed water main between 61st St. and 63rd St. The connections made will be between the installed water main and the roundways/Buffalo boxes. Brief water shut offs may occur while the water service line connections are being made. Sections of sidewalk will be removed as a result of water service installation. The sidewalk will be temporarily replaced with gravel.
• After the water services are installed between 61st St, and 63rd St, the connection of the new water main to the existing water main along 63rd St. will be made. There will be a water shutdown, which is expected to last up to 4-6 hours, as this connection is being made. Residents that this shutdown will affect will be notified via door hanger. This connection is anticipated to occur near the end of the week of May 8.
• It is anticipated that the contractor will then remove the old fire hydrants and decommission the old water main.

April 28, 2023

• The contractor will continue to install water services on the installed water main between 61st St. and Hobson Rd. The connections made will be between the installed water main and the roundways/Buffalo boxes. Brief water shut offs may occur while the water service line connections are being made. Sections of sidewalk will be removed as a result of water service installation. The sidewalk will be temporarily replaced with gravel.
• After the water services are installed between 61st St. and Hobson Rd, the connection of the new water main to the existing water main along Hobson Rd will be made. There will be a water shutdown for up to 4-6 hours as this connection is being made. Residents that this shutdown will affect will be notified via door hanger. This connection is anticipated to occur the week of May 1.
• The contractor will then work on the water service connections between 61st St. and 63rd St. This work is anticipated to begin the week of May 1.

April 21, 2023

• The week of April 24th the contractor will install hydrants on the installed water main from 61st Street to 63rd Street.
• It is anticipated that then the contractor will install water services on the installed water main between 61st Street and Hobson Road. The connections made will be between the installed water main and the roundways/Buffalo boxes. Brief water shut offs may occur while the water service line connections are being made. This work is anticipated to begin the week of April 24.
• After the water services are installed between 61st St. and Hobson Rd, the contractor will work on the water service connections between 61st St. and 63rd St. This work will likely occur late the week of April 24 or the week of May 1.

April 14, 2023

• Water main installation on Chase Ave. from 61st St. to 63rd St. is anticipated to start the week of April 17. The contractor will be working from the intersection of 61st St. and Chase Ave. to the south towards 63rd St.
• As the new water main is installed and connected to the existing main, there may be interruptions of water service to the affected area. Affected residents will be notified by door hanger.
• After the water main installation from 61st St. to 63rd St, the contractor will be installing hydrants on the water main. Then the contractor will be installing water services. Water services will likely be starting the week of April 24, pending weather.

April 7, 2023

Water main installation is anticipated to begin the week of April 10, starting from 61st St. to Hobson Rd. Water main installation from 61st St. to 63rd St. is anticipated to start the following week.

March 31, 2023

• The contract was awarded at the March 21, 2023 Village Council meeting. The pre-construction meeting was held March 28. Construction notices were given out to residents on March 29.
• The week of April 3 the contractor will begin mobilizing equipment and materials, saw cutting, and marking JULIE locates for other utilities.
• Watermain installation is anticipated to begin the week of April 10, starting from 61st Street to Hobson Road. Water main installation from 61st Street to 63rd Street is anticipated to start the following week.
