The Downers Grove Police Department is currently investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and 39th Street around 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
Initial reports indicate that a 54-year-old male pedestrian was stuck by a vehicle while crossing the intersection of 39th Street and Fairview Avenue. The vehicle involved was described as a black, medium-sized pickup truck with a full-size white tool box in the bed. The vehicle left the scene without stopping to assist the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle was described by witnesses as a white man with a bald head, between 50-60 years old. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on Fairview Avenue from 39th Street. The pedestrian was transported, with non-life threatening injuries to Good Samaritan Hospital.
