On Monday, October 23, 2017, work will begin to install new tile flooring at the Main Street Train Station. The fresh new look is being jointly funded by Metra and the Village of Downers Grove. The station will remain open during the project, but access will be limited to certain areas over the next two months.
During the first two weeks of the project the west room, the side nearest Main Street, will be closed. Access to other areas will be restricted as work progresses through the station.
In subsequent weeks the ticket window will be closed. Passengers can board the train and purchase a One-Way Ticket with cash from the conductor and no service charge will be applied. Monthly, 10-ride and weekend pass tickets can be purchased at Union Station or with the VENTRA app.
Information on changes to station access and amenities will be posted on the Village website and at the station throughout the project.
