Village Receives 13 Applications to Fill Council Vacancy

As of Friday, August 5 at 5:00 p.m., the Village received 13 applications from residents interested in being considered for appointment to fill the remainder of the term on the Council vacated by former Commissioner David Olsen. Commissioner Olsen was recently sworn-in as the new State Representative for Illinois' 81st Legislative House District.

"I was very pleased to see a high level of interest in the position from a variety of well-qualified candidates," said Mayor Martin Tully. Based on the submissions, the current Village Council will work together to narrow the field and determine which candidates to interview. "We aim to make a decision on an appointment by the end of the month. We're fortunate to have a number of talented and civic-minded candidates who have expressed their interest in serving the community," the Mayor added.
