UPDATE: Police Investigate Suspicious Package At Library

Police are investigating a report of a suspicious package at the Downers Grove Library.  The library has been evacuated and is now closed.  Please avoid this area.

Update: 6:03 p.m.  On Wednesday December 2, 2015, the Downers Grove Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious package at the Downers Grove Public Library, 1050 Curtiss Street. Officers learned that the library staff found a suspicious package on the second floor of the library. The library was evacuated for precautionary measures.

The DuPage County Sheriff's Department Bomb Squad responded and determined that the object was non-hazardous. The Downers Grove Public Library has re-opened and resumed normal operations.
