Burglary Suspect Arrested

Downers Grove Police Chief Robert A. Porter announced today that a suspect has been arrested in connection with a recent burglary in the 4100 block of Glendenning. On March 6, 2015, officers responded to the 4100 block of Glendenning Road for a report of a burglary to a house. The suspect fled and after an extensive search of the area, could not be located.

Acting on investigative leads, police arrested Patrick L Manning at his residence on March 21, 2015, and transported him to the Downers Grove Police Department for further investigation. Mr. Manning, who is on parole for residential burglary, was subsequently charged with one count of Attempted Residential Burglary. He is currently being held at the DuPage County Jail. Bond has been set at $50,000.00.

March 6, 2015

On March 6, 2015, at approximately 12:20 p.m., officers from the Downers Grove Police Department responded to the 4100 block of Glendenning Road for a report of a burglary to a residence.

The resident advised that a man forced entry to the back door of their house and walked inside. When the suspect encountered the residents, the man ran from the house in an unknown direction.

The offender was described as being a black man, late 40s to early 50s, 6'02" to 6'03" in height with a heavy build, and he had black and gray facial hair. He was wearing a black baseball cap, blue jeans and a black fleece coat with an "Advocate Health Care" insignia. It is unknown if there was a vehicle involved.
