Fire Department Responds To Apartment Fire

At 6:14 a.m., Wednesday, October 22, the Village received a call about a fire at 2020 Prentiss Drive.  The fire started in an apartment on the second floor and extended to the third floor.

Fire Fighters were able to quickly contain the flames which had begun to spread up the exterior side of the building. Due to significant smoke and other damage certain units within the building will be uninhabitable for an indefinite period. No residents were injured, however, a Downers Grove Firefighter was transported for unspecified minor injuries.

Those immediately impacted by the fire were given access to the on premise Resource Center.  At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
