Arrest Made In Ogden Avenue Incidents

Downers Grove Police Chief Robert Porter has announced the arrest of Patrick S. Callaghan, related to a series of incidents on Ogden Avenue.  On the evening of October 9, 2014, Downers Grove Police responded to three incidents involving Mr. Callaghan. The first incident occurred at Shanahan's Pint House located at 2009 Ogden Avenue.  Mr. Callaghan allegedly hit another patron with a glass.  The second incident involved Mr. Callaghan attempting to force his way into an occupied vehicle in the parking lot of the West Suburban Humane Society located at 1901 Ogden Avenue.  In the third incident, Mr. Callaghan was reported to be causing a disturbance at Jimmy John's located at 2321 Ogden Avenue.  In each case, Mr. Callaghan fled prior to the arrival of police.

Police located Mr. Callaghan earlier today (10/10) in the area of the Lyman Woods Nature Center located at 901 31st Street where he was taken into custody.  Mr. Callaghan was charged with three counts of felony Aggravated Battery.  

Members of the public are reminded that these complaints contain only charges and are not proof of guilt. The arrested persons are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial in which it is the government's burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
