Arrest Made in Residential Burglary

Downers Grove Police Chief Robert A. Porter announced today that a subject has been arrested and charged with Residential Burglary. On Friday, April 11, 2014 at approximately 11:29 a.m., Downers Grove Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 5400 block of Blodgett Ave. A resident returned home, entered her house through a side door, and saw a man leaving her house out the front door. When confronted by the resident, he ran south toward Barth Pond and was followed by a tree trimming crew working in the area. Downers Grove Police Officers observed the 
man running and were able to take him into custody. The offender is identified as Louis Colella, 51 of 253 Linden Ave, Hillside Il.

The DuPage County States Attorney approved one count of Residential Burglary and the offender is being held in Du Page County Jail. Bail has been set at $250,000 (10% applies).
