On Friday, March 21, 2014, Village staff met with ComEd representatives to tour the Deer Creek Subdivision (Fairview and 58th Street), site of a ComEd underground cable replacement project. Over 7,000 feet of new underground cable is being installed to improve reliability. Repeated outages experienced by residents in this area were a topic of discussion at the ComEd Town Hall meeting held on September 19, 2013.
Since 2011, the Village has worked closely with ComEd to improve electrical reliability for residents and businesses. Over the past two years, the Village has coordinated with ComEd to ensure the most problematic areas see upgrades to equipment and vegetation management to reduce the frequency and severity of outages.
There are multiple reliability improvement projects scheduled to occur in 2014. In fact, over 100,000 feet of underground cable will be replaced throughout the Village, according to ComEd.
