Pedestrian Struck by Train

On November 29, 2013, at approximately 5:48 p.m., the Downers Grove Police Department was called to the area of the Main Street Train Station for the report of a pedestrian that was struck by a train. A preliminary investigation found that a man was struck by a slow moving eastbound Metra train. The pedestrian was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Train traffic was stopped in the area and the Main Street and Washington Street crossings were closed while police conducted an investigation. As of 8:10 p.m., all train traffic and crossings were opened to resume normal operation.
