Electricity rates for Village customers remain lower than ComEd's new proposed rates. Village customers in the electrical aggregation program now pay 4.75 cents per kilowatt hour compared to ComEd's proposed 5.55 cents per kilowatt hour. According to Crain's Chicago Business, this new rate is not yet official, but representatives of the utility have filed their new energy price with the Illinois Commerce Commission.
The good news for Downers Grove customers is that the two year fixed rate of 4.75 per kilowatt hour negotiated with First Energy, saves the average household approximately $350 on their annual electricity bill.
The Village contract with First Energy Solutions guarantees that Village electrical aggregation customers always receive the lowest price. Residents are reminded to check their electricity bills to ensure they are receiving the lowest rate. Call 1-866-636-3749 if First Energy Solutions does not appear on your bill.
