Police Investigate Suspicious Incident

Suspicious Incident RenderingOn October 18, 2012, at 7:40 a.m., Downers Grove Police were notified of a suspicious incident that occurred in the area of Dunham Road and Concord Drive. A 15 year-old girl was walking to school when a large, white, sport utility vehicle (SUV) slowed and the lone, male occupant asked her to come to the vehicle.

The girl continued walking and the vehicle followed her to the area of 6700 Dunham Road, where the girl changed directions and ran from the area. The vehicle then left the location in an unknown direction. A search of the immediate and surrounding areas by police was unsuccessful in locating the described vehicle.

Police are attempting to locate a Hispanic man with similar characteristics to the composite. He is believed to be 30-40 years old with brown hair that is long in back and tied up in a ponytaill.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Downers Grove Police Department at (630) 434-5600 or 911.

Police have increased patrols in the area and at all local schools. Everyone is asked to remind children to be aware of strangers and report any concerns immediately to police.
