Bike and Pedestrian Plan Survey

Do you love to ride your bike or take walks in Downers Grove? Get ready to talk! In an effort to become a bicycle-friendly community and improve the pedestrian experience downtown, the Village is seeking public input.

TAKE THE  BIKE AND PEDESTRIAN SURVEY!  The survey link will be available through August 3, 2012.

Last August, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning awarded a grant to the Village to update the existing Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. The three main objectives of the plan are to develop a comprehensive biking and walking network, to increase safety throughout the village by developing a public education and outreach plan, and to market bicycling and walking throughout the community as viable transportation options. Help shape this plan by getting involved!

Village representatives, along with consultant Sam Schwartz Engineering, will be out in the community the next few weeks gathering feedback, which will be incorporated into the revised plan to improve safety and enhance opportunities to travel in the Village by bike or on foot. A draft of the new plan is scheduled to be presented in October.
