9-11 Moment of Remembrance

Downers Grove will take part in a national Moment of Remembrance to observe the ten year anniversary of 9-11. The Moment of Remembrance will take place downtown at 12:00 p.m. on September 11, 2011 at the Downtown Arts Festival. Participants are asked to gather by 11:50 a.m. on Main Street in front of 5129 Main St.(Louisa's and Millie's Chocolates).  Village officials and members of the Downers Grove Police and Fire Department Honor Guard will conduct a brief ceremony prior to calling for a minute of silence.

At noon, on September 11 in Chicago and cities throughout America, citizens are asked to stop for a moment, wherever they are, and remember for one minute the thousands of innocent lives lost on 9-11 and take pride in the strength and perseverance of the American people.
