Scenes from the Recycling Extravaganza
Last updated: Public Relations Specialist |
The Village would like to thank all those who participated in the Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, September 24, 2011 and saved items from entering landfills. The following were collected:
- 202 Lead-acid Batteries
- 120 Bikes
- 117,520 lbs of electronics (exceeds last year's 109,655 pounds)
- 115 American flags
- 126 propane tanks
- 20,000 lbs of Shredded Paper
- Plus scrap metal and other misc. items
Due to tremendous response, some vehicles were not able to drop off their items. Especially popular at this year's event were electronics recycling and paper shredding. We apologize that we were not able to service all who made the effort to attend the event and properly dispose of their items.
Please be aware that there are other recycling opportunities in the area, including electronics recycling that will be held at Village Hall on the first Saturday of the month, beginning on November 5, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
