As a result of the Tuesday/Wed storms and high winds, the Village will remove damaged branches from parkway trees only. Storm Damage and Debris from trees located on private property is the responsbility of the property owner.
Tuesday, October 26. 2010, 9:45 a.m.: Public Works crews have been clearing inlets of debris since 7:00 a.m. to relieve standing water in roadways. Downed trees and branches have been removed from the street and efforts have shifted to clearing parkways. Crews continue responding to calls and are monitoring the situation.

Between 5:00 am and 8:00 am on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, the DuPage County area will likely experience strong to severe thunderstorms as reported by the National Weather Service. Sustained winds are predicted to be in the 30-40 Mile per Hour range with gusts in the 50-60 Mile per Hour range. Tornado development is also possible.
The Village is monitoring the situation and Public Works crews have been notified that they could be called out. The Village has rented a second chipper to aid in parkway tree debris clean up.
On Tuesday afternoon, even more powerful sustained winds and wind gusts are predicted. This weather pattern is expected to continue into Wednesday with strong sustained winds and wind gusts over 50 miles per hour.
High wind velocity is the greatest concern over the next 48 hours. Fallen trees and/or utility lines are expected. It is highly recommended that all outdoor furniture and equipment be brought indoors prior to the arrival of this system and that any unnecessary outdoor activities be postponed.
