Heat Advisory Issued / Cooling Shelter Available

A Heat Advisory has been issued Friday, August 13, 2010 for Downers Grove and the surrounding area by the National Weather Service. Afternoon temperatures in the mid 90s are expected with Heat Index values of between 105 to 110.

These conditions present increased risk of heat exhuation or heat stroke for individuals working outdoors or engaged in strenuous activitities.

If you are a Downers Grove resident in need of shelter from the extreme heat, please contact 911. Transportation will be provided for those persons in need of shelter having no means of transportation.

The Village will provide shelter when the outside temperature is 95 degrees or higher and the inside temperature of a residence is 80 degrees or higher.
