Winter Storm Warning- Updates

LATEST : 1/7/10 9:15 a.m. Snow expected to become heavier during the latter portion of the morning rush and will remain heavy at times through 1-2pm. During this time, snowfall rates of ½-1” per hour are expected. Salt will become less effective once the snowfall rates increase. Motorists are asked to keep this in mind during their commutes.

Public Works crews are salting/plowing as needed, in accordance with Snow Removal policies.

Timeline

1/6/10 5:10 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect for our area from 9:00 p.m. this evening (1/6/10) to noon on Friday, 1/9/10. Total accumulation of 8 to 12 inches is expected by Friday morning. Snowfall rates of one inch or more per hour are possible at times during the storm.

Residents are reminded of the following winter reminders:

  • Parking on streets is prohibited between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. when 3 or more inches of snow have fallen.
  • It is against village ordinance to shovel, place, or blow snow or ice onto the street, sidewalk or any right-of-way.
  • Please remember to be a good neighbor and shovel your sidewalk, if you are able.
