Village Storm Event Response - October 30, 2009

Storm Update #2 10-30-09 as of 2:15 p.m.

Public Works crews continue clearing leaves and debris from storm drain inlets.

The high standing water in the roadways is creating hazardous driving conditions. Motorists are being asked to avoid flooded roads whenever possible.

If high water is unavoidable please proceed slowly, allowing cars ahead of you to clear the hazard before proceeding. Remember to tap breaks lightly once you have cleared the hazard to dry break pads and ensure proper function.

To minimize roadway flooding, the Village does ask that residents keep storm drains near their home free of leaves and debris, if they are physically able to do so.

Storm Update #1 10-30-09 as of 7:00 a.m

Village crews responded to reports of localized roadway flooding as of 1:00 a.m. by clearing leaves and debris from storm drain inlets. This work continues as of 6:00 a.m.

There have been no reports of residential flooding and crews have not had to pump out any low lying areas.

There have been no power outages reported.

Pleaese remember that depositing leaves in the roadway is prohibited.
