On Tuesday August 4, 2009, the Downers Grove Police Department will join forces with local law enforcement agencies in a special Traffic Safety Campaign covering 35 miles of the Ogden Avenue corridor through Kendall, Kane, and DuPage Counties.
The purpose of the campaign is to increase the safety of citizens who travel Ogden Avenue through education and traffic enforcement. Efforts will concentrate on speed and occupant restraint violations, as well as other safety violations observed during the campaign.
The following police departments are expected to participate in the Traffic Safety Campaign: Naperville, Aurora, Oswego, Yorkville, Lisle, Downers Grove, Westmont, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, and the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.
Each jurisdiction will implement their own enforcement action based upon the needs of their communities.
The Downers Grove Police Department reminds all motorists to “Buckle Up” and drive safely.
