June 20, 2009, 2:10p.m. – ComEd currently has about 32,000 customers out of service due to the severe storms that hit the service territory on June 19. Since the initial outages were experienced due to yesterday’s storms, ComEd has restored over 200,000 customers. ComEd continues to assess the damage while working to safely restore power to critical facilities, such as healthcare, police, fire and pumping stations as our first priority. The majority of customers currently out of service are expected to be restored by noon, Sunday, June 21. However, some areas have experienced more extensive damage and will take longer to return to service.
