Safe Return ID
The Downers Grove Police Department has developed Safe Return ID for Downers Grove residents who may have communications difficulties and are at risk of becoming confused, disoriented, or lost. Persons of any age that suffer from Alzheimer's, Dementia, Down Syndrome, Autism or other disabillites are eligible to participate.
The program enables police to make faster identifications, reunite family members quicker, and provide help to people with special needs. Photographs, emergency contact information, and other personal information are kept by the police department. The information is used for the purpose of identifying and locating an individual who is reported missing, found wandering or other special circumstances in emergencies.
To submit information use the Safe Return ID Form. If you have questions regarding registration contact the police department at 630.434.5600.
