Driveway installation, removal, replacement and/or modifications require a permit. Call Community Development with questions (630) 434-5515.
Submit two (2) copies of a plat of survey showing the proposed improvements and the completed permit application.
The Village is testing a pilot program to accept driveway permits electronically. To submit online, email the following items to email@example.com:
Completed and signed permit application.
In the email subject line, please state the following: Driveway Permit + project address (e.g. Driveway Permit - 801 Burlington Ave). The permit application must be signed. Incomplete applications cannot be processed and an email will be sent notifying you of missing information. Attachments (plat of survey/drawings) must be less than 25MB in size in total. Please make sure your submittal documents are on 11" x 17" paper or smaller.
Please note: electronic submittals are only being accepted for driveway permits. For projects that include any other work - including parking lots, patios, private walkways, steps/stoop - hard copies must be submitted at Village Hall.
The Village has a goal of completing first reviews in 10 working days and subsequent reviews in 5 working days.
You will receive an email response confirming receipt of files submitted to the Village. We may contact you if further information is needed. Your permit request has been sent to the Community Development Department, as well as a copy for your records to your email address
