The Village of Downers Grove is accepting applications for the position of Customer Service Assistant Part-Time, (approximately 20 hours per week).
Duties: Answering all telephone calls made to the Village’s main number during business hours. Managing a heavy volume of email inquiries, and responding in a timely and accurate manner. In addition, this individual will be responsible for researching and responding to requests for information, either from within or outside of the organization, and handling a variety of administrative and clerical responsibilities. Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Two years of customer service support experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates for this position must be friendly, customer service-oriented, and have the ability to interact effectively with a variety of customers (such as elected officials, residents, business representatives, and vendors), as well as co-workers. Successful candidate must have a desire to develop a diverse knowledge of local government. This individual must be a strong communicator in person, over the phone, and via email, often simultaneously.
Wage Range: $$17.03 – $20.43 per hour
