Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the Village of Downers Grove does not discriminate against individuals based on their disabilities, as stated in the Notice Under the Americans with Disabilities Act document.

The Village of Downers Grove’s ADA Coordinator is Megan Miles.

This position coordinates Village efforts to comply with Title II of the ADA by making all reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities who seek to participate in Village programs, services and activities. In addition, the ADA Coordinator administers the Village’s ADA Grievance Policy.

Anyone who requires special accommodations to participate in a Village program, service or activity should contact the ADA Coordinator as soon as possible, but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.

Non-public Buildings

Please contact the following to report ADA issues for non-public buildings in the Village:

  • The State's Attorney General to report issues concerning existing buldings with non-conforming conditions
  • The Village's Community Development department for buildings with current and recently completed alterations - (630) 434-5515
