Community-Wide Notification System

The Village of Downers Grove has implemented a Community-Wide Notification System. The Connect-CTY service allows the Village to record and send personalized voice messages across the community in just minutes, through a single phone call. Publicly available primary residential and business phones in Downers Grove have automatically been included in the system.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to register additional devices (up to three phone numbers and two e-mail addresses) by which to be contacted. To add/change information, visit the Community-Wide Notification System link.

If you do not have Internet access you may correct/add information by calling 630.434.5550.

Residents with call blocking services can make sure to receive the Village’s time-sensitive calls by adding (630) 434-5511 to their approved number list.

RSS Feeds

RSS is an acronym for “Really Simple Syndication” and allows visitors to retrieve content from a website they are interested in, without even visiting it, by subscribing to a site feed. Feeds are delivered through a third-party service known as an RSS Feed Reader or RSS News Aggregator to compile new and updated content from RSS -enabled Web sites and display it all in one place for easy viewing. These services, available both as Web pages you can visit and software that can be downloaded to your desktop, can be used to compile news from any page that has an RSS icon located either on the page itself or up in the address bar of your Web browser.

Available RSS Feeds from the Village website.

Subscribers of Comcast Cable can watch DGTV on Channel 6. DGTV provides community based programming including live Village Council meetings and their rebroadcast, community affairs programming and coverage of local events.
