Project Summary

This work includes the rehabilitation/maintenance of existing culvert pipes, streambank stabilization, installing natural features and channel modification between Barth Pond and Main Street. The Village has received IEPA 319 Grant funding as well as DuPage County Water Quality Grant funding for this work.

Recent Progress

9/23/20

Nicor is expected to begin work in early November on Lyman, then Fairmount.

10/09/20

Pavement patching is expected to occur around mid-October. Wetland plug plantings are expected for late spring 2021.

Nicor is in the process of reveiwing and designing a plan to resolve the gas line conflict on Lyman.

8/21/20

The contractor will be finishing sidewalk replacement on Fairmount and cleaning up the area on Park District property, east of Fairmount.

8/14/20

Stone-toe stabilization measures completed W of Fairmount and remaining grading work on Park District property was also completed. Curb and sidewalk formwork will take place at the start of the week, followed by pouring of the curb and sidewalks along Fairmount.

8/7/20

Majority of creek re-alignment, grading, and stabilization completed on Village owned Washington property. Starting 8/10/20, stone toe stabilization W of Fairmount.

7/31/20

Creek re-alignment and grading west of Webster finished up last week. Sediment removal between Fairmount and Barth Pond will occur this week.

7/24/20

Work will continue at Village-owned properties on Webster.

7/17/20

Fairmount Avenue box culvert replacement is complete and the road has been reopened to traffic. Work will begin on reshaping the Village-owned properties on Webster.

7/10/20

Lyman Avenue has been reopened to traffic, and Fairmount Avenue culvert replacement will occur this week. Fairmount Avenue will be closed at St. Joseph Creek for approximately 4 days. Reshaping of the channel east of Fairmount will continue.

07/03/20

Lyman Avenue culvert replacement will occur this week. Lyman Avenue will be closed at St. Joseph Creek, just south of Kenyon for approximately 4 days. Reshaping of the channel east of Fairmount will continue.

06/26/20

Tree removal and site clearing will continue this week. Work between Barth Pond and Fairmount (Park District property) will begin this week.
