This project shall consist of the complete reconstruction existing roadways in the residential subdivision, drainage/stormwater improvements and all related work including driveway replacements, and turf restoration.

Additional punchlist work performed during the week of October 17th.
Landscape contractor was on site to perform weeding of the native plants areas. Native plants that did not survive the summer will be replaced by the contractor in the fall of this year.

This week: Completed parkway restoration work. Adjusted water shut off boxes. Installed new stop signs. Planting of native plans in the bio-swale areas to be done in the spring. The entire project will be inspected in the spring and any remaining punch list items will be addressed in the spring.

This week: Final layer of asphalt was installed on all streets. Worked on the installation of gravel shoulders.

Next week: Beginning Tuesday, November 2 installation of the final layer of asphalt is scheduled to take place. Prime coat (roadway oil) will be applied to all roadway surfaces prior to asphalt installation. This work will be done very early in the morning to allow for the oil to begin drying before morning traffic. Access to driveways may be limited when paving takes place in front of ii. Reinstallation of asphalt driveway aprons will follow next.
This week: Excavated for the storm water management area at Clyde/Washington/60t Place. Began fine grading of ditches and installation of top soil in the parkways.
Next week: Continue fine grading of ditches and installation of top soil. Work on adjusting frames and lids in the street. Work on concrete curbs along the intersection returns. Installation of surface layer of asphalt is planned for the week of November 2nd. Driveway apron restoration is planned for the week of November 9th.

This week: Milling of the roadway surface was completed. Full depth reclamation of the roadway base was completed. The roadway base will be allowed to cure for approximately four days before a first layer of asphalt is placed.
Next week: Beginning Tuesday, October 13 installation of the first layer of asphalt is scheduled to take place. Prime coat (roadway oil) will be applied to all roadway surfaces prior to asphalt installation. This work will be done very early in the morning to allow for the oil to begin drying before morning traffic. Access to driveways may be limited when paving takes place in front of it. After that contractor will begin working on fine grading of the ditches and concrete driveways restoration.
This week: Completed transfer of water services to new watermain on 59th Place.
Next week: Milling of the roadway surface will start Monday, October 5. Once a street has been milled, the existing surface will then be pulverized. Access to driveways will not be available when pulverization takes place directly in front of it. Streets will be drivable once the surface is rolled and compacted.
When milling and pulverization are complete, dry cement and water will be applied to the road base. This work will be done in segments and each segment will be inaccessible for up to three hours, especially when the cement (grayish powder) is placed atop the roadway. Please do not drive on the roadway while it is covered in cement (grayish powder).
The intersection of Clyde-Washington-60th will be closed during this time to complete the realignment of the intersection. Residents will be notified in person immediately before the pulverization and dry cement application processes begin in front of their homes. PLEASE NOTE: Plans are subject to change due to weather.
This week: Installed new watermain on 59th Place between Webster Place and Webster Street. Completed replacement of water services that required lowering. Installed a section of new curb on Washington between Clyde and 61st St.
Next week: Pressure test and chlorinate the new watermain. Transfer adjacent water services to the new watermain. Milling of the roadway pavement has been tentatively scheduled for October 5th.
This week: Contractor worked on replacing water service lines that required lowering. Next week: Complete replacement of remaining water service lines and replace a section of water main on 59th Place between Webster Place and Webster Street. Individual homeowners affected by this work will be notified in advance of the work taking place. Weather permitting all underground work should be completed by the end of next week. Milling of the roadway pavement will follow next.
This week: Contractor completed rough grading of all ditches and driveway culvert installation on all street except for the 5900 block of Washington Street. Nicor in the process of adjusting gas services on the 5900 block of Washington Street.
Next week: Contractor to complete installation of storm sewer and rough grading of parkways on the 5900 block of Washington Street. Work on lowering a handful of water services throughout the subdivision to ensure adequate ground cover. Excavate for roadside shoulder on Webster Street.
This week: Storm sewer work was completed on 60th Place, Webster Place and majority of Washington Street. A section of storm sewer on the 5900 block of Washington Street remains to be completed due to a conflict with gas services. This work will be completed as soon as those gas services get lowered by Nicor. Grading of ditches was completed on Clyde Avenue, 6000 block of Washington Street, and 60th Place.
Next week: Rough grading of ditches will proceed to Webster Place, 59th Place, and Webster Street.

8/14/2015 The Village's contractor, A Lamp Concrete Contractors Inc began storm sewer installation at Washington Street and 61st Street and continued on to Clyde Avenue. Storm sewer installation on Clyde Avenue will be completed early next week. The sections of storm sewer on Washington Street, east leg of 60th Pl and Webster Place are scheduled to be completed later on next week. Additionally, work is scheduled to begin on ditch grading and culvert replacements next week. This work will impact driveway access. Notifications are being distributed to affected homeowners prior to work commencing. All driveway access will be restored at the end of each working day.
7/24/2015 Root pruning and tree protection completed. Saw cutting of driveways started on Friday, July 24th. Nicor gas main installation to continue the week of July 27th.
7/17/2015 The revised start date for Nicor’s contractor is Monday, July 20th. Initially gas main relocation will focus on the area of Washington, between Clyde and 60th Pl. The storm sewer work is scheduled to start on Monday July 27th.
7/10/2015 Initial tree removal and tree pruning work completed. Weather related delays will keep Nicor from starting gas main replacement work until the week of July 20th.
7/3/2015 Construction signage, tree protection and tree removal work to begin the week of July 6th. Nicor's contractor to mobilize the week of July 13th.
6/19/2015 The next neighborhood meeting is scheduled for July 1st at 6:30 pm at the Public Works Facility, 5101 Walnut Avenue
6/12/2015 Project bids were received. Project is being recommended for award by Village Council on June 16, 2015 . Anticipated start of construction in July 6, 2015.
4/17/2015 Next neighborhood meeting is scheduled for April 27th at 6:30 pm at the Public Works Facility, 5101 Walnut Avenue. FINAL PLANS are available for viewing above.
4/10/2015 Received final project plans from the consultants. PW staff is in the process of reviewing the plans.
1/27/2015 Engineering consultant is working on addressing latest Village comments and design changes, including modifications to intersection designs and stormwater management area. (See January 2015 Memo)
10/31/2014 Second neighborhood meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 6:30 pm at the Downers Grove Public Works Facility.
10/3/2014 Neighborhood meeting to be held in early November. Notifications will be mailed out prior to meeting.
8/29/2014 Design work is in progress. Next neighborhood meeting will be held in October of this year.
8/15/2014 First neighborhood meeting was held on August 13th. Meeting included a short presentation introducing the project and design team. Staff answered general questions from the audience. A small group session was also held to address any specific questions and input from residents. Staff received written comments and is working to address them as the design work progresses.
8/8/2014 First neighborhood meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 6:30 pm at the Downers Grove Public Works Facility.
6/20/2014 Designer is in the process of drafting the topographical survey.
6/6/2014 Survey work is completed. Geotechnical / soil investigation work is in progress.
